A student has pointed out errors in the syallabus.
On page K32: With respect to the inulin clearance, the correct urine concentration of inulin is 300 mg/L ( not 300 mg/ml -as is stated in the paragraph above the calculation).
On page K33: The same error occurs in the paragraph above the calculation of PAH clearance. The correct units are 1800 mg/L, and the substance is PAH and not inulin.
The actual calculations are correct in both cases.
On P.46 line 18. This sentence currently reads: The H+ secreted into plasma combines with another anion...
The correct reading should be: "The H+ secreted into tubule lumen combines with another anion such as phosphate, and this H+ is excreted in the urine."
Correction to the handout on compensation for acidosis and alkalosis.
Last sentence of the respiratory acidosis section: The reduction in H+ constitutes a renal compensation for a respiratory acidosis.
